Welcome to the Victorian Working Draught Horse Association.
We are a group of like minded people who enjoy using heavy working horses doing real work, be it down on the farm ploughing, harrowing, planting crops or hay making, using a finger mower to cut a crop, or super spreading,
We also run wagon trips up from 1 day to 1 week duration in different venues across the state.
On 19th September 1982 it was changed to The Victorian Working Draught Horse Association.
The Associations aims are to provide a focal point at which it can promote all aspects relevant to the working draught horse.
The association during any year holds education days, dirt (ploughing) days, drives of 1 day to 1 weeks duration, attending heritage festivals as well as any other events that can bring the association into the public arena.
We currently have a membership of appoximately 200 made up of owners of draught horses as well as people who just love the horses but do not have any.
All members of the public are most welcome to join.
Our objective is to preserve it’s heritage, create public awareness, provide assistance on breeding, care and handling. To provide continued displays of working draught horses to members of the association and the public alike and to bring together a fellowship of members with the same interest.
